The first 72 hours — what counts now
Immediately after a death, only a few things truly need to happen at once. Everything else can wait — and much of it we take on. This overview shows you what matters in the first hours.
- Have the death certifiedCall a doctor (family doctor, emergency doctor or on-call medical service). They certify the death and issue the death certificate — the basis for all further steps.
- Get in touch with usCall us — around the clock. We discuss the essentials, collect the deceased and take over the entire organisation from that moment on.
- Have important documents readyAn ID card, birth or marriage certificate and — if available — a funeral provision plan or last will help us arrange everything in line with your wishes. If something is missing, we find a way together.
- Decide at your own paceWe discuss the type of funeral, the service and personal wishes without time pressure — often only the following day. For the first hours you don't have to make any major decisions.
