What to do in the first 24 hours, calmly and without pressure.
When a loved one has passed away, you do not have to do anything at first. Breathe. Sit down. Phone calls can wait.
In a hospital or care home, staff automatically issue the death certificate. At home, call your GP or the on-call doctor at 116 117. Only then notify us, we will take care of the rest: collection, authorities, certificates.
